Journey is saying goodbye to its fans after having over 50 years of timeless hits, but not without a farewell tour. Journey founder and guitarist Neal Schon says this is their “thank you to the fans who’ve been with us every step of the way,” and they plan to express their gratitude with the best shows they will ever put on stage. He will be joined by keyboardist Jonathan Cain, frontman Arnel Pineda, Jason Derlatka for keyboards and vocals, Deen Castronovo for drums and vocals, and Todd Jensen on the bass.
The band’s farewell tour will wrap up their successful history of 15 studio albums, 1 soundtrack album, 5 live albums, and 11 compilation albums. Journey has sold more than 100 million albums around the world since being formed in 1973, with its Greatest Hits album being given the RIAA diamond award. The Billboard Hot 100 also had 18 of its hits in the Top 40. Just last year, their song “Don’t Stop Believin’” surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, cementing its distinguished status as one of the best-selling catalog songs of all time.
This one-night show at Delta Center is just one out of their 60-date North American tour. The venue can accommodate an audience of 20,000 and was chosen for being accessible and well-maintained, with recent major renovations making it even more ideal for big music events like this. Fans will enjoy the completed first phase of the $500 million worth of improvements being done to the Delta Center while singing the band’s internationally renowned songs. The farewell tour of the band will start on February 28 at Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and end on July 2 at Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas.
